The reactionary character of yesterday's stock market was more commonly ascribed in Wall Street to "lack of buying interest" than to any determined selling pressure. The absence of demand, which was most apparent in the issues which have been trading favorites recently, was explained by some watchers as a natural precedent to the approaching holiday.
