Hugo Pierre Leclercq (French pronunciation: [yɡo pjɛʁ ləklɛʁ]; born 30 May 1994), better known by his stage name Madeon (), is a French musician, DJ, record producer, singer and songwriter from Nantes, based in Los Angeles. He initially came to widespread public attention at age 17 through a YouTube video, "Pop Culture", where he performed a mash-up of 39 different popular songs in real-time using a Novation Launchpad. It received millions of hits in its first few days of release. Madeon has cited the Beatles and Daft Punk as his greatest musical influences.

Madeon's first EP, The City, was released in 2012. His debut studio album, Adventure, was released in 2015, supported by a 22-stop North American tour. In 2019, Madeon released his second album, Good Faith, as part of the Good Faith Live tour.

Madeon was ranked at number 105 on DJ Mag's top DJs for 2017. In 2017, he was nominated for two Electronic Music Awards with Porter Robinson for Single of the Year and Live Act of the Year. Good Faith was nominated for a 2021 Best Electronic Album Grammy Award.

Gay and lesbian publications have long struggled for respect from national advertisers. While new, glossy gay magazines are now getting that attention, gay newspapers have remained largely in their shadow. At least 65 gay and lesbian newspapers are published nationwide, with an estimated total readership of nearly three million, according to a recent study by Mulryan/Nash Advertising in New York. The study found that these publications, 27 of which are weeklies, have a combined $41.8 million in annual ad revenue.

Pratt Gets F-16 Order

The United Technologies Corporation has received a $117.2 million Air Force order for F-16 jet fighter engines, the Defense Department said on Friday. The company's Pratt & Whitney division will make 32 F100-PW-220 engines in Middletown, Conn. The engines, to be completed by September 1996, will be installed on F-16's destined for Taiwan. The Air Force is the middleman for that transaction. The F100-PW-220 engine produces 23,450 pounds of thrust for the single-engine F-16, which is made by the Lockheed Corporation.

Continental Bank Bonuses

The Continental Bank Corporation will pay seven departing members of its management team $15.25 million -- including $3.9 million to its chairman, Thomas Theobald -- under "golden parachute" arrangements that will take effect because of the bank's pending takeover by the BankAmerica Corporation. The chairman of the Cablevision Systems Corporation said last week that his company would proceed with its planned acquisition of Sutton Capital Associates, a cable television operator, but would renegotiate the transaction. Charles Dolan, chairman and chief executive of Cablevision, said his company had decided not to scrap the acquisition and would pay less than the $463 million purchase price the companies agreed to earlier. "The deal is on," he said. "We will pay a lower price."
