Ο Ζωρζ Ρου (George Roux, 1853–1929) ήταν Γάλλος ζωγράφος και εικονογράφος βιβλίων. Τα γνωστότερα έργα του σήμερα είναι ο μεγάλος αριθμός εικονογραφήσεων που δημιούργησε για τα μυθιστορήματα περιπέτειας και επιστημονικής φαντασίας του Ιουλίου Βερν. Υπήρξε ο δεύτερος σε πλήθος εικονογραφήσεων έργων του Βερν, μετά τον Λεόν Μπενέτ, εικονογραφώντας 22 μυθιστορήματα του μεγάλου συγγραφέα στις πρωτότυπες εκδόσεις του Πιερ-Ζυλ Ετζέλ. Το πρώτο από αυτά ήταν το L’Épave du Cynthia (Ο ναυαγός της Κύνθιας, 1885) και το τελευταίο ήταν το L'Étonnante Aventure de la Mission Barsac (Αφάνταστη περιπέτεια ή Αποστολή Μπαρσάκ, 1919).

The Senate did nothing in open session yesterday but adopt Mr. Brodhead's resolution requesting the Secretary of the Treasury to furnish the Senate at the commencement of the next session, a statement, showing the entire amount of United States Stocks and Bonds held abroad.

The West India mail steamer Parana, arrived at Southampton on Monday, 21st ult., bringing $916,368 specie on freight, and' a large cargo. Advices by the Parana report great discontent at San Juan (Greytown) and Navy Bay, from an attempt of the authorities to lay new and heavy taxes; but amicable arrangements were expected.

Our City, at this present writing, is "dull, stale, flat, and unprofitable." We have had no news from beyond Stockton, Ala., for a week past, the everlasting point which the mails fail to reach. Our Legislature is taking its time, and the members seem determined to spin out the session until June.

From the London Daily News, 21st. The news of the sailing of an English fleet for Constantinople is scarcely confirmed before we are told that our ships of war have been followed by a fleet from France, bound to the same Quarter.
